To study simple harmonic under damped oscillations and to calculate

1. Time period T of oscillation

2. Angular frequency w

3. Relaxation time t 

4. The quality factor Q of the oscillations

One inch thick rod x 30 cm long is fixed on a rigid heavy 4 kg triangular base with levelling screws , at top of which a 9 mm aluminium rod  of 25 cm long is hanged which moves frictionless on ball bearing and passes through timing gates which is recorded in digital timing gates and the data can be stored. A weight 500 gm (sliding) movable is also provided
